Custom Dreadlock Orders Are On Pause — Here’s Why 💔 (And What’s Still Coming!)
Hey beautiful souls,
It’s Sammie here. I’ve got one of those updates that’s a little tough to write, but it’s coming straight from the heart — so here goes.
After a lot of reflection (and a few dramatic chats with my plants and a whole lotta coffee), I’ve made the difficult decision to close custom dreadlock orders for the foreseeable future.
Trust me, I didn’t come to this lightly. Custom sets have always been a huge part of my passion — getting to bring your vision to life, color by color, bead by bead, braid by braid. There’s something so magical about making a set that’s just as unique as the person wearing it. And y’all have kept me inspired, stretched my creativity, and filled my inbox with some of the wildest (and best) ideas I’ve ever worked on.
But behind the scenes… life has been life-ing. Family stuff has taken center stage lately, and honestly, I need to be able to show up fully for the people I love — without feeling like I’m letting anyone down in the shop.
Custom work takes time, love, energy, and emotional bandwidth that I just don’t have to spare right now — and you deserve someone who can give it their all. So instead of burning out or rushing through sets that should be sacred, I’m stepping back to focus on my people (and yes, also on keeping my sanity somewhat intact).
So What’s Next?
Here’s what you can expect while customs are paused:
✨ Ready-to-Ship Dreadlock Sets — I’ll still be creating gorgeous sets in between real-life chaos, and they’ll be listed right here on the site as often as possible. These are made with the same love and care, just without the wait or the custom convo back-and-forth.
✨ New Drops Announced First on Socials & Email — Make sure you’re following me on Instagram/TikTok and subscribed to my email list, because I’ll always give you a heads-up when new sets hit the shop. (And yes, they go fast. You’ve been warned.)
✨ No DMs for Custom Requests Right Now — I love you, but I pinky promise I’m not ghosting. I just physically and mentally can’t take on one-off orders right now — please respect that boundary as I navigate this season.
From My Soul to Yours
If you’ve ever purchased a set, hyped my posts, sent a kind message, or just seen me in this journey — thank you. Truly. Running a small business while being human is… a lot. But I’ve felt the love, and it’s kept me going more times than I can count.
I hope you stick around while I lean into healing, family, and the freedom to create when inspiration strikes. I’m still here. A little more tired, a little more grounded, and a lot more grateful.
And when the day comes that I’m ready to take customs again, I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops (and probably crying happy tears while I dust off my custom order form).
